Chief Executive Officer

Since joining Lucid in 2010, Dave has held a variety of roles and has been responsible for expanding the product and business development teams, including product management, marketing, sales, customer support, and operations. Dave assumed his current role of CEO in 2022 after serving as President and COO at the company, where he oversaw go-to-market functions and internal operations. Prior to Lucid, Dave worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company after founding his own web-based platform. He also previously served on the board of directors for Bitly and CloudPlus. He graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in finance.

SVP of Sales

Before joining Lucid in 2014, Peter helped build and scale several successful sales organizations at companies such as HireVue and InsideSales.com. With his passion for increasing sales productivity, he has built best-in-class sales teams through hands-on coaching and cutting-edge process development. Peter holds a B.S. in economics from Brigham Young University.

Chief Engineer and Co-Founder

Ben solely developed and built the first version of Lucidchart, and today he continues to significantly influence product development. In his prior role as CTO for Zane Benefits, he oversaw development of one of the leading online health benefits administration platforms. He was also previously the lead software developer for Estari. Ben holds a B.S. in computer science from Brigham Young University.

General Counsel and SVP of Legal

Cara joined Lucid in 2018 with a background in corporate governance and transactional law. Her legal experience includes representing Silicon Valley start-ups and venture investors, as well as leading international capital market transactions. She also previously served as the COO of COzero, an energy technology company. Cara holds a B.A. in economics and public policy from Rice University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and an M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Sydney.

Chief Financial Officer

Seamus joined Lucid in 2021 with over two decades worth of financial management and operational experience in both public and private technology companies. He previously served as CFO at Udacity, Big Switch Networks, and Ruckus Wireless. During his eight-year tenure as CFO at Ruckus Wireless, he led the company from early-stage startup through its successful IPO in 2012 and acquisition by Brocade Communications Systems in 2016. Seamus holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick, Ireland.

Chief People Officer

Kat joined Lucid in 2017, having spent more than a decade in management-side employment law. She was previously a shareholder and director at Clyde Snow & Sessions with experience in preventative advice and counsel, workplace investigations, and employment law training. She holds a B.S. in business administration and management from Brigham Young University and a J.D. from the University of Utah.
